Escape from it all to this magical 300 year old family home, in Ospringe, Faversham. Whether enjoying the grounds in the summer sunshine or sitting in front of a roaring log fire, character features and sumptuous fabrics abound in this home, located just eleven miles from Canterbury. Historic architecture and expansive living spaces, including an emperor sized master bedroom, all set within the pristine gardens, ensure a self-catering break for friends and family anytime of the year.

Choose from six individually designed bedrooms, each with unique charm and character, all across the first floor. The wing, houses two double rooms and a large family bathroom, and the main part of the house, with its southern exposures, offers three more rooms and a shower room. Those wanting a bit of space will enjoy the ground floor self-contained bedroom / den and bathroom hidden away from the main part of the house and even has its own front door!

This fairy tale home provides endless space for a gathering, with more than three receptions rooms, including the striking dining room that flows effortlessly into the beautifully designed kitchen. Perfect for that special dining occasion.

The Oaks Holiday Accommodation

The Oaks: sleeps (12 + 2) in 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3/4 reception rooms, open fire, ample parking, extensive grounds, wonderful for children including garden climbing frame.

Ground Floor

Entry into the grand hall. 

Hall / TV large reception room, sofa seating for 8 to 10 guests. Large screen TV, selection of children's toys, board games. 

Boot room / Cloakroom, - access through to independent Den.

Bedroom 1 is the Den  - (sleeps 2) with two sofas, one is the double sofa bed topped with a feather-bed mattress topper. TV

Shower room - located just between the Den and Boot room.

Bespoke kitchen, beautifully fitted with range cooker, rustic island, large American fridge/freezer, dishwasher and all the essentials for your stay. The washing machine is located upstairs. Double doors open to the dining room.

Dining room, a large grand entertainment space with a full length antique mahogany table and spare table that will accommodate all 14 guests, decorative fireplace.

Drawing room, grand double aspect windows, an open fire, seating for 10/12. Board games and a SONOS speaker system. 

Half way up the grand staircase to the Wing.

Double bedroom (sleeps 2) fitted cupboards. 

Family room (sleeps 2 +1) double bed + camp bed (better suited to children) 

Family bathroom, freestanding tub and separate shower. 

First Floor

Emperor Master double Bedroom, (sleeps 2) Super King-size double bed, ensuite bathroom with claw footed tub, shower handheld. 

Shower room, walk in shower. 

Twin room (sleeps 2+1) two single beds, plus a pull out bed. 

Double / Twin room (sleeps 2) King size double bed, can be made up as a twin on request and topped with a feather-bed mattress topper.

Local Information about Faversham, Kent

This self catering Kent holiday house is situated in the village of Ospringe near Faversham, beautifully positioned within easy access to both North and East Kent. Close to good transport links, the location is very convenient as a base to explore Kent and also for day trips to London or the Continent. The Village of Ospringe also boasts a renown gastro pub - The Ship Inn, serving fantastic food from lunchtime to the late evening.

Faversham is a short drive away or a reasonable walk away from this holiday house in Kent, it offers many attractions to the holiday-maker and gives you the chance to explore more of Kent. The historic town centre is well worth exploring during your stay with many historic sites including Maison Dieu which are the remains of a medieval monastery - it has been a village museum since 1924 and is the oldest in England. Faversham's gunpowder mills have dominated the Kent town's industry for the last 400 years. The Chart Gunpowder Mills are well worth a visit; here you can see the 11 processes in making gunpowder. Faversham is also the home of the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale Farm - here you can spend a lovely day out and get a real taste of the fruit growing industry in Kent. Hops also feature in this area of Kent and the Faversham Brewery of Shepherd Neame, the oldest brewery in England, offers a wonderful two hour tour where it is also possible to sample the brews, a perfect trip out with all the family to learn more about Kent during your stay.

There are glorious Kent gardens to explore for a fun day out including Mount Ephraim Gardens at Hernhill, where you can wander around the magical gardens and enjoy lunch or tea at the restaurant. There are also the Doddington Place Gardens near Sittingbourne in Kent and Belmont House and Gardens which are both well worth a visit too.

The Historic Dockyard of Chatham is a unique, award-winning maritime attraction - here you can explore 400 years of Kent history and there are costumed guides to show you around.

The whole of the North Kent Coast is a lovely place to explore, from nature reserves for bird watching to working harbours in Whitstable, Kent, where you can sample the famous oysters. With pretty beach huts and traditional seaside resorts such as Herne Bay, this is a very popular area of Kent for enjoying a traditional seaside holiday.

The Cathedral City of Canterbury, is only 8 miles away where not only can you enjoy the World heritage site within the city walls, but there is a great selection of shopping opportunities in the Whitefriars and fantastic shows available at The Marlowe Theatre.
