Jane Austen was a frequent visitor as her brother married into the family that owned it and the house inspired her to write Pride and Prejudice after her stay. Completely renovated the house retains its historic charm with a contemporary yet traditional interior. Family treasures, furniture and paintings abound and the atmosphere is a relaxing blend of grandeur without formality.
