Royal Exchange House Summary

Built in the 1640's, under the reign of Charles I, this delightful property was a former merchants house and later a public house.

Now it has been transformed into a traditional and comfortable holiday home. Set over three floors, the house has a sociable open plan sitting/dining room, modern kitchen and four bedrooms and two bathrooms over the first and second floor. The three double bedrooms are of luxury hotel standard with quality beds, mattresses, bed linen and they even have tea and coffee making facilities and luggage racks. The fourth bedroom is a cosy single room with pretty window seat looking over the historic cottages in this conservation area of the City. A folding single bed offers accommodation for an eighth guest.

Outside is a fully enclosed courtyard garden with bench seating and garden dining set, so perfect for alfresco meals or drinks, or just enjoying some quiet time in between sightseeing.

Canterbury is a magical place to visit, not least because of the medieval Cathedral and many other historic buildings and museums. A few other highlights are the Marlowe Theatre, the Curzon Cinema, the Beaney Art Gallery and of course the wealth of choices of restaurants and shops.
