Canterbury was settled as early as Saxon times who favoured it because of its strategic position in a valley with two rivers. Canterbury was also home to Geoffrey Chaucer's famous Canterbury Tales which are well depicted in a museum entirely dedicated to them in the city centre.
In the immediate area, Roper road is within a 5 minute walk to the majestic Westgate towers that guarded the west entrance to the city; nearby to a choice of restaurants, bars, cafes, bakery, shops and supermarket, in fact there is absolutely no need to get in the car at all! The train station is directly opposite with the fast train connecting to London within 55 minutes. Major bus routes are also accessible and lead other exciting locations including the seaside and harbours, one of our favourites being Whitstable.
Canterbury West and East Station are just a few minutes walk from the apartment with high speed links to London (56 minutes to London St Pancras).
Ashford International is just 20 minutes train ride away with its International Eurostar connections to Paris and Brussels (2hrs and 15 mins).
Easy access along the motorway to Folkestone for the Eurotunnel and Dover for the Ferry with connections to Calais
