Originally a cart barn on a well established fruit farm, this attractive barn conversion has been designed with a stylish interior and the layout creates a warm and relaxing environment to unwind in. Surrounded by fields and on the edge of woodland, you feel you really are in the middle of nowhere! The barn has a spacious open plan ground floor with huge windows stretching from the ceiling to the floor.

The kitchen has plenty of room for creating delicious holiday meals, with a generous rustic wooden table seating up to 8 people. Medleys Barn has a modern shower room on the ground floor and a Victorian style bathroom on the first floor between the two bedrooms. With wonderful beams and interesting features, this pretty barn conversion really is a charming place to get away from the rush of everyday life! Added to this, there is an adjacent well-kept tennis court for enthusiasts to use, with prior arrangement from the neighboring owner, which just adds to the fun!

Medley's Barn Holiday Accommodation

Medleys Barn: sleeps 4 + 1 in 2 bedrooms.  Bathroom and shower room.  Outside terrace and tennis court, parking for 2+ cars.

Ground Floor

Kitchen/dining room,  kitchen has electric hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, microwave, washing machine and dryer.  Sitting room area has TV with Freeview and DVD player.

First Floor

Bathroom with bath and hand held shower attachment.

Bedroom (sleeps 2) King sized raised bespoke wooden 6ft with under bed storage. This is higher than a normal bed and is accessed by 3 steps and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. 

Twin bedroom (sleeps 2) low headroom at door. 


Paved terrace with table and seating for 4, steps up to the shared tennis court (hard court).  Grassed area and open gardens to surrounding woodlands. Small pond (not fenced) Care with small children.

Local Information about High Hurstwood, Sussex

Situated in a tranquil setting, Medleys Barn is about 20 minutes' drive from the famous spa town of Tunbridge Wells and yet feels very rural. For those who enjoy the great outdoors, there are thousands of acres of footpaths a mile or so away on the Ashdown Forest. You can play Winnie the Pooh's favourite game - 'pooh sticks' at Pooh Bridge or look out over Eeyore's Lonely Place, and even have tea at Pooh Corner in Hartfield!

For food enthusiasts, there is an excellent pub in the village called 'The Hurstwood', worth a visit but you do have to book beforehand.

As far as activities go, there are riding stables nearby and keen golfers will find plenty of courses in the local area. With fishing lakes and even dry slope skiing within a short drive from Medleys Farm, there is something for everyone. For culture, restaurants and retail therapy apart from Tunbridge Wells, the wonderful coastal city of Brighton is just 40 minutes' drive away.

A short drive will take you to a variety of beautiful visitor attractions, including beautiful Scotney Castle, a National Trust 14th century moated castle, Bodiam Castle, Lewes Castle, Penshurst Place or Hever Castle. Bedgebury Forest and National Park is only 11 miles away, which is a stunning area of natural beauty miles of walks and cycling paths, including 'Go Ape,' a hugely fun activity where you can swing through the trees. Nearby Bewl water is the largest area of inland water in the South-East. If you are a water sports enthusiast, this is the place to visit with lots of activities including sailing, canoeing and wind-surfing.

Further afield you will discover Glyndbourne, the famous Opera House; the nostalgic Bluebell Railway; Brighton and its stylish Marina, or the more traditional resort of Eastbourne with superb blue flag beaches. Not forgetting of course, the famous Beachy Head together with a variety of National Trust and English Heritage properties and gardens. Should you still have time to spare after all this, London with shopping, shows and famous landmarks is just over an hour from Buxsted Station just a 6 minute drive away,or Uckfield and Crowborough stations.
