A perfect bolthole for cosy nights in or a summer retreat, the Jam shed offers open plan living with a well equipped kitchen, comfy sofas and TV. Stairs lead to a loft bedroom with a kingsize bed and views across the garden to the pond.
The Jam Shed is located on the outskirts of Plumpton Village within walking distance of Plumpton train station with direct line via Gatwick to London Victoria, a racecourse and an excellent village shop selling fresh bread and croissants, local produce and quality meals to take back to the Jam Shed if you don't fancy cooking. Alternatively why not walk across the fields to The Jolly Sportsman pub, a former Victorian alehouse now well known for its food.

The Jam Shed is five miles north-west of the delightful market town of Lewes and 10 miles from the world famous Glyndebourne Opera House and if you don't want to drive you can catch the train from Plumpton (a 10 minute walk from the Jam Shed) to Lewes and make use of the Glyndebourne shuttle bus.
In and around Lewes you can visit Charleston, the home and country meeting place of the Bloomsbury set; Lewes Castle; Anne of Cleves House; Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum and Drusilla's Zoo & Park.
The Jam Shed is a short train journey or drive from Brighton. Vibrant, colourful and fun, Brighton offers the energy of the city with the freedom of the sea. It really is unique with so much to offer from the magnificent Brighton Pavilion to the famous Lanes with their quirky shops, antique stalls, cafes and bars. Ride the Brighton Eye or stroll along the seafront and Brighton Pier and visit the Sealife Centre. Join a Brighton Cycling or Walking Tour; have a go at Sea Kayaking Sea Fishing or Scuba Diving; visit the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, the Toy Museum or join the evening Mayhem and Murder Tour. The cultural life of Brighton is a busy one and there is always a show, a play, a concert or an exhibition to visit
The South Downs National Park is right on the doorstep of the Jam Shed with 1600km of wonderful walking or cycling. Why not walk along the South Downs Way to Lewes for a delicious breakfast at Bills or the Real Eating Company followed by a potter around the Saturday Farmers Market and the many antique shops. Or head in the opposite direction for tea in the Ditchling Tea Rooms or lunch in The Bull Pub.
If you are a fan of wild swimming there is a fantastic 5km stretch of deep, clean water in the River Ouse at Barcombe Mills (7.9 miles) or try the wide, shallow oxbow lakes on the Cuckmere Meanders (17 miles).
