Pet Friendly Holidays in Kent and Sussex

Holidays are the perfect opportunity to enjoy quality time with our pets and explore new places. Here at Garden of England Cottages we understand the needs of dogs and their owners and offer dog friendly accommodation where you can both feel at home.

Kent and Sussex are wonderful places to walk, both for you and your canine companion -and offer an immense variety of landscapes. You can find hills, parkland, woodlands, marshes, river valleys, and an interesting coastline with those all important dog friendly beaches, as well as places you never perhaps thought you’d be able to take your dog. Here are a few ideas for you and your best friend to enjoy together.

Doggie Days Out

Kent:

  • Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, New Romney. 01797 362353 Welcome dog owners and their pets (Token charge of 50p per dog)
  • Pines Garden St Margarets Bay, Dover. 01304 851737 Dogs on leads.
  • Dover Castle & The Secret Wartime Tunnels - English Heritage. 01304 211067 Dogs on leads allowed in restricted areas.
  • Bedgebury Pinetum, Goudhurst. The world's finest conifer collection. 01580879820 Open all year. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead in the Pinetum.

Sussex:

  • Newhaven Fort, Newhaven. 01273 517622 Dogs on leads are welcome.
  • Seven Sisters Country Park, Seaford. 01323 870280 The Park is a working farm dogs to be kept under close control at all times. From late February until the end of May dogs must be kept on a lead anywhere on the Park. Dogs are welcome in the tearooms.
  • Amberley Working Museum, Amberley. 01798 831370 Dogs are admitted to the museum but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Beaches:

  • Ramsgate Main Sands, Kent. dog exercise area
  • Whitstable, Kent. Not only is the beach dog friendly, but the popular pub, The Old Neptune, situated right on the beach welcomes dogs too.
  • Camber Sands, East Sussex. Dogs are welcome but not in the dog free zones.
  • Cuckmere Haven Beach, East Sussex. (nearest town Seaford) No dog restrictions on this pebble beach.
